What is a HygiPanel hygienic wall covering?
HygiPanel is a seamless wall and ceiling covering made of polyester resin and woven glass fibre with an antibacterial gelcoat finish. It replaces tiles and porous joints to create smooth, easy-to-clean surfaces in environments with strict hygiene requirements.
Can HygiPanel panels be installed over existing tiles?
Yes. The panels are installed directly over most existing surfaces, such as tiles, concrete, sandwich panels, paint or blockwork, without demolition, which keeps the work fast and clean.
Do we have to stop production during installation?
In most cases, no. Because there is no heavy preparation or demolition, installation is quick and can usually be carried out with little or no interruption to your activity.
Are HygiPanel coverings HACCP and ISO compliant?
Yes. HygiPanel panels meet the requirements of HACCP, ISO 22000 and ISO 14644-1, and are available with a Bs2-d0 (M1) fire rating. They are food-contact safe and resist intensive, repeated disinfection.
Which sectors does HygiPanel work in?
The food industry such as butcheries, bakeries, slaughterhouses and dairies; professional and institutional kitchens; and healthcare and pharma such as hospitals, laboratories and cleanrooms.
How long does a project take?
It depends on the surface area, but installation is fast: large panels up to 6 metres long cover walls and ceilings quickly, so most projects take only a few days.
Tiles, paint or hygienic panels: what is the difference?
Tiles have porous joints where bacteria accumulate, and paint wears and flakes over time. HygiPanel panels are completely smooth and seamless, waterproof, impact-resistant and far easier to keep clean over the years.
Does HygiPanel work outside Belgium?
Yes. HygiPanel is manufactured in Fernelmont, Belgium, and carries out projects in Belgium, France and Luxembourg.
